The American knows the only way to silence the critics is to start winning games.
“We don’t pay attention to the press,” Friedel told talkSPORT.
“We know after a 6-0 defeat nice things aren’t going to be said so you don’t read it, you just get on with your work, and that is how you quieten them down.
“I thought our last two performances were very good and on Wednesday [against Fulham] we are expecting another good performance.
"Whenever you take a 6-0 defeat you want to get on the pitch as soon as possible, we did so against Tromso, winning 2-0, and then I thought the reaction in the Premier League was outstanding.
“I thought we were the better team in the 2-2 draw and we are looking forward to Wednesday now.
“We have got a great squad, a lot of quality players, and we will be going in with a lot of confidence based on our last two games. “
