Friday November 6 is ‘Dynamo Day’
Houston Mayor Bill White has labelled Friday November 6 as ‘Dynamo Day’ and wants all the people of Houston to wear the club colours to work.
The Houston Dynamo have yet again reached the MLS play-offs and are attempting to make soccer history by winning their third MLS championship, prompting the Mayor to ask all Houstonians to get behind their team.
"Soccer is one of the fastest growing sports in Houston, so we really appreciate having a team of the caliber of our two-time MLS champions," Mayor White said. "Win this weekend; and let's make this year championship number three!"
Houston played the Seattle Sounders FC in a 0-0 draw last week in Seattle and the return leg will take place this Sunday at Robertson Stadium, where the winner will advance to the Western Conference Finals.
If they are to achieve that, the Dynamo fans will need to come out in force and support the team as club president Oliver Luck is hoping.
"The Houston Dynamo organization epitomizes what it is to be a Houstonian on and off the field," Luck said. "We're energized by the hometown support."
