Former Fiorentina goalkeeper Sebastien Frey has taken a dig at Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo.

Frey insists Ronaldo Nazario, formerly of Inter Milan and AC Milan in Italy, was the superior talent.

He told Gazzetta dello Sport: "The real thing was Ronaldo.

"The truth is that today's kids do not know who Ronaldo was. I take care of explaining it to my son too.

"In 1998, Inter had the strongest players on the planet. El Fenomeno was the best of a generation. He was the first complete player and no one looked like him. Today Cristiano is a top player, but Ronaldo was at the top."
