Fresh injury setback for Tottenham's King

Tottenham captain Ledley King has been ruled out for the opening two months of the season.

King, 26, was forced to undergo surgery on his knee injury after playing for England against Brazil and Estonia back in June.

There were hopes he would only miss the first month but boss Martin Jol confirmed last night he will not be back in action until October.

New £7million buy Younes Kaboul is now certain to get a regular run in the first team alongside Michael Dawson.

Jol said: "Ledley will still be out for probably another two months. But Younes will provide even greater competition to our defensive ranks."
