Fabrice Pancrate is reportedly on his way to join Newcastle in the coming days. The French striker is available on a free transfer after leaving Paris St Germain in the summer.

The French media are reporting he is on trial with the Magpies and he could be offered a deal if he impresses.

During a trial with Sheffield United, Pancrate said he would he happy to play in the Championship, telling skysports.com: "I have always wanted to play in this country, and the Championship is a very good league, so let's wait and see."

Pancrate also trained with Portsmouth during pre-season and attracted interest from Burnley.
