French sports marketing expert Didier Poulmaire can understand PSG's move for Barcelona star Neymar.

There is talk of PSG being prepared to pay Neymar's €222m buyout clause to prise him away from Barca.

Poulmaire has no doubts Neymar would be a huge marketing and merchandising success for the French giants.

He told Le Parisien: "We must be impressed by the opportunities that Neymar would represent.

"First, he is one of the top three players on the planet. Secondly, he is a world famous brand, with a powerful and very positive image. He embodies values of freshness, spontaneity and generosity.

"In short, his commercial potential is enormous and if PSG was negotiating the exploitation of a part of his individual image, the spin-offs would be out of norms."
