French pundit slams Man Utd, Mourinho supporters: Narrow-minded little ones with accountant's eye

French pundit Daniel Riolo has taken aim at Manchester United over the manner of their Europa League final victory last week.

Riolo drew a contrast between United's win over Ajax and PSG's French triumph.

He told RMC: "In a few days, we saw two finals with two small winners. Manchester United in the Europa League and PSG in the Coupe de France.

"Each time, a big one against a small one. For the narrow-minded little ones who have an accountant's eye on the sport, it was impossible to criticize Man U and their coach Mourinho. He knows how to win, picking up one more title, miming the number with his fingers and celebrating. History tells us that only the victor is told. Absurd.

"PSG also beat a small one. But here, the same 'observers' cut the conqueror to pieces. Yet there is a notable difference. Man U never tried to make the game, to be enterprising against the small, while PSG at least tried to attack the encounter and made the game against a bus of wrestlers. That said, it was far from brilliant, I agree largely. I just wanted to highlight a rather delirious difference in treatment when it comes to talking about PSG.

"A distorted appreciation that will have been noticeable throughout the season."
