French football chiefs insist they're not ignoring Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte.

Laporte has spoken of committing himself to Spain.

Pierre Mankowski, the France under-21 national team manager, told L'Equipe that Les Bleus manager Didier Deschamps "is keeping an eye" on Laporte.

But also noted that "there are many players in his position. If you have five or six central defenders, adding a seventh..."

Mankowski said that Laporte's "aim is to represent Les Bleus, but it appears that Spain are trying to seduce him with their team."
