Freiburg chief Klemens Hartenbach is delighted with their deal for Liverpool midfielder Ryan Kent.

Kent had long been a confirmed target for Hannover, however Freiburg stepped in yesterday to sign the winger on a season-long loan.

"It was not clear for a long time whether Liverpool would let him go at all," said Hartenbach.

"This door has been opened again for us in the last days. We've been aware of Ryan since an U19 youth game with Liverpool at FC Basel in 2014.

"Ryan is a two-sided attacking player. He can play on both flanks and will enrich our game."
