Freedman optimistic over injury scare to Palace defender Clyne

Crystal Palace boss Dougie Freedman is remaining positive that player of the year last season Nathaniel Clyne will shrug off a knock sustained in the 3-1 friendly defeat at Bournemouth. "He had a kick to his foot which is disappointing - thank goodness it's only a kick though," he said.

On-trial striker Antonio Pedroza missed out on the chance to impress Freedman due to an injury.

"He's got a tight hamstring and I've got to make a decision on him over the next week," added Freedman. "I've got to get him fit again, maybe get him in a game behind closed doors, and then I can make a decision on him."
