Freedman delighted as Zaha signs new Palace deal

Crystal Palace boss Dougie Freedman was relieved to see starlet Wilfried Zaha sign a new contract. The 19 year old starlet has been linked with a host of top-flight clubs but this week put pen to paper on a five-and-and-a-half-year deal to stay with the Championship outfit.

"Wilfried could be signed up for five months or five years and he would still be in at 9 o'clock in the morning working hard and working towards trying to be the player he is going to be," said Freedman.

"From the club's point of view, it's fantastic news to see a young player commit his future to the club. He wants to get better and he wants to play week in, week out.

"For me as a coach, I look forward to working with him for longer than I thought I would."
