Chris Wood's magnificent start to life at Leicester City only got better on the weekend with a treble in the 4-0 victory at Bristol City.
The New Zealand international, who joined the Foxes from West Bromwich Albion for £1.2million earlier this month, scored in the 11th, 18th and 41st minutes to make it five goals in two league appearances since arriving at King Power Stadium.
Wood, who also scored in the FA Cup win over Burton Albion last weekend, received plenty of praise from Leicester boss Nigel Pearson after his match-winning performance.
"Chris Wood has taken his chances for us and scored some early goals, which makes a big difference," he said.
"He is a very focused young player who has fitted in straight away and gives us a height and physical presence up front, which perhaps we lacked.
"It is not easy to sign quality players in January and I am delighted to have secured him early in the window."
Wood has now scored 16 goals in 21 appearances in the Championship this season after finding the back of the net 11 times whilst on loan at Millwall.
