Seattle's Freddie Ljungberg has blasted the LA Galaxy of using negative tactics. Following Seattle Sounders FC defender James Riley being sent off for trying to retrieve the ball from Galaxy player Gregg Berhalter, Freddie Ljunberg has hit out at the Galaxy.
"I stand totally behind Riley. The L.A. Galaxy (player) is gripping the ball and holding because they don't want to play football," Ljungberg said.
"They just want to be slow. I don't think that's why the fans are here, to look at that.
"He tried to grab the ball and the Galaxy player is trying to hold it, there becomes a little scuffle. That's to blame of the Galaxy player who doesn't let the ball go. At least in Europe, you have a rule that you're not allowed to hold the ball. I don't know if they have that rule here."
