Fred has welcomed the support of Manchester United fans ahead of joining preseason.

Fred signed for United before the World Cup from Shakhtar Donetsk.

He already has an eye on starting work following his £52million transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk - and has been receiving messages from United supporters.

Fred tweeted in response: "I'm very proud to join @ManUtd. New chapter of my career start, and I'm fully committed to work hard to help this huge club achieve success. Thank to the fans for the all messages I received, and let's be together to achieve our goals!"

Fred became United's second arrival of the close season last month following the capture of young right-back Diogo Dalot from Porto.
