Frankie Dettori enjoying life involved at Chelsea

Top jockey Frankie Dettori is set to become a regular visitor to Chelsea's Stamford Bridge after the opening of his "Frankie's Sports Bar and Grill."

The Italian champion, who has started the restaurant at the Shed End of Chelsea's ground with award-winning chef Marco Pierre White, admits he was mystified by English football when he first arrived here.

"In Italy they just played on a Sunday but when I came to England 23 years ago they were playing on a Wednesday, Monday, Thursday.

"You'd sometimes play the same team three times in a week, I couldn't work out what they were playing for - it was such a headache!

"But when I went to a game I was hooked."

Frankie told the November Chelsea Magazine he was a big fan of new West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola, adding: "He comes from Sardinia, which is where my parents come from.

"And we're about the same size too, although he's probably an inch bigger!"
