Francis hopes Stoke chairman Coates gets credit he deserves

Stoke City coach Gerry Francis hopes chairman Peter Coates receives the recognition he deserves as they prepare for the FA Cup final.

Francis, who enjoyed spells as a manager with QPR and Spurs, was recruited by Tony Pulis to bolster his backroom staff. The duo work well together.

Francis told the Sunday Mirror: "A lot of credit must go to chairman Peter Coates.

"He is a local man and has helped give the club a real identity. He and Tony have worked so hard for Stoke.
