Francis: England boosted with Chelsea winger Cole, Man Utd's Hargreaves
Former England star Trevor Francis believes Fabio Capello's team will only get better with the return of injured stars.
Francis believes the squad would be strengthened by the return to fitness and form of three men – Joe Cole (Chelsea), Theo Walcott (Arsenal) and Owen Hargreaves (Manchester United).
“Cole is just coming back and was not been picked for Ukraine. I hope he will be ready for the Brazil game in November," Francis told the Sunday Mirror.
“I would like him to force his way back – not just into the squad, but the team. He gives us something different. He’s a clever player, and his guile can open teams up. Walcott has had tough times with injuries but is now back in contention with Arsenal. And Hargreaves has had an even worse time. If he can get back by the end of the season he will be a great asset. He is so versatile.”
