Francesco Moriero set to take charge of Peru

Former Lecce and Grosseto boss Francesco Moriero is set to be named new coach of Peru.

tribalfootball.com has learned Moriero is in advanced talks with the Peruvian FA and his appointment could be confirmed in the next 24 hours.

Former Italy international Moriero, who played for Inter Milan, AS Roma and Napoli in a long and successful career, is in line to take charge of Peru against England for one of their final World Cup tune-up games.

The Peruvian FA have been searching extensively for a new coach since the departure of Sergio Markarian after their failed World Cup qualifying campaign.

Moriero will be charged to lead Peru to the Copa America.

The Italian is also set to be joined by Fabio Cordella, who will be part of Moriero's backroom team.
