Mathieu Debuchy believes that France’s 1-1 draw with England in their opening Euro2012 fixture last night was a good result.
The Lille full-back, who has been linked with Newcastle United, admitted it was tough to get past a determined Three Lions defence and feels that taking a point from the match after they went behind to Joleon Lescott’s 30th minute header was favourable.
"[It's] Awesome to play against England, it is not easy to get inside [them], but we had to. The first 20 minutes we were struggling but as the game went on, we had more control of the ball.”"It's still a good draw and a good result," he told reporters. "When you see the beginning of the game, it makes sense and we are content.
