France coach Didier Deschamps says he won't forget accusations of racism over his continued non-selection of Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
Deschamps has never considered Benzema since before the 2016 Euros for his role in an alleged blackmail plot. The coach's decision drew claims of racism, including from the player.
The France coach stated on Wednesday: "I'll never forget. That's not my role as coach. I make choices in relation to well-defined criteria, but not those ones. And that we can hold speeches that lead to the consequences that I had in my private life, it is inconceivable.
"I cannot fight on it. This happened. It was violent for me, but for the people around me it is an unacceptable violence."
