France coach Didier Deschamps has launched a furious attack on Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri.
Fed-up with Nasri's claims of why he has been frozen out from the France squad, Deschamps has made public his side of the story.
"Already, you need you to know that in the fall of 2012, I decided to call him. To talk with him. He refused. He did not want to talk," began Deschamps.
"This did not stop me from selecting him in August. I took him in August, September, October, November. When they are selected, I talk with them. I tell them what I want on the field. I had the opportunity to discuss each time.
"But he did not hear or did not listen. Or he does not want to. I was waiting.
"I wanted to select a quality player but he did not meet my expectations. I wanted to call him, he would not accept," Deschamps told RMC. "His performances were not up to what I expected.
"To close the subject, he seems happier without the France team. The France team continues its life rather well."
