France can go the distance says Karembeu

Christian Karembeu feels France can go very far at Euro2012.

The former Les Bleus, Real Madrid and Middlesbrough star, who won the 1998 World Cup and Euro2000, was asked on Twitter whether or not he thinks Laurent Blanc's men can at least reach the semi-finals and he was extremely confident about their chances.

"I can see France going very far, especially if we look at the stats," he wrote ahead of this afternoon's clash with England.

"It is 20 games undefeated now and that shows how confident this squad is. At the same time, this squad has done well to come through the hard times and they have got a lot of composure so I can see this French side going quite far."

He added: "I think that France could win the tournament and be the surprise package, even though Spain and Germany remain favourites. My heart says France."
