France boss Blanc sweating on Matuidi fitness

Laurent Blanc is hoping that highly-rated midfielder Blaise Matuidi is fit for France's Euro2012 quarter-final with reigning champions Spain.

The 25-year old Paris Saint-Germain ace missed the group stage matches because of a thigh injury but Blanc expected him back for the knockout phase although a mishap at training has him in a race against time to take on the Spaniards in Donetsk on Saturday.

"It was getting much better," Blanc said at a press conference on Wednesday. "But the day before yesterday he injured himself again.

"It is an occupational hazard. He might be able to play in the quarter-final, but we can't be sure yet."
