Aston Villa chief Tom Fox has hopes of seeing the club playing again in Europe.
The new chief executive insists the club are striving for the top six of the Premier League and believes the ambitious aim is achievable.
"I think we've got a really good chance, not in one year, not tomorrow, but over time, to get the club back to where it deserves to be," Fox told the Birmingham Mail.
"You certainly don't want to limit your ambition, so I'm conscious of saying one thing and making people feel that I'm artificially limiting our ambition.
"I've spent enough time in the business of sport and the world of football to know that it is a game that is driven by the money spent on your squad.
"It would be fantastic to bring midweek European games back to Villa starting with the Europa League.
"It's not easy, it's going to be a challenge."
