Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler made an impressive start to his dual-role as the Thailand Premier League title holders, Muang Thong United eased to a 3-1 victory over Samut Songkhram on Saturday. The 36-year-old joined Muang Thong after spending two seasons in Australia's A-League.
Muang Thong now move to within nine points of leaders Buriram PEA but with a game in hand, Fowler said: "This was my first match and I have no pressure in my new role.
"I am glad that we got the three points and I give my appreciation to all the players. I was delighted that we took control of the game.
"The most important challenge for me now is to lead the team to the defence of the Thailand Premier League and to win the FA Cup as winning these titles will get Muang Thong back in the ACL [AFC Champions League] or the AFC Cup next season."
