Fowler not getting too carried away after Perth Glory hat-trick

Robbie Fowler was remaining calm following his match-winning hat-trick against Melbourne Victory at nib Stadium yesterday.

The former Liverpool star was back to his best as he led the Glory to their first win in 11 matches but he wasn't stopping to collect any accolades, preferring to state the importance of a much-needed win by the struggling side.

"It's nice scoring goals but the most important thing is the three points," Fowler said.

"As the gaffer (Ian Ferguson) said we've been a lot better in the last few weeks but I think today we've taken it Melbourne and deserved the win.

"From the 'keeper to Michael Baird up front everyone played their part.

"It's a great win, but it's one win in 10 so let's not get carried away."

The victory for Perth was their first since September 5 and allowed them to go four points clear of 9th-placed Newcastle Jets as they prepare for Sunday's away clash with Sydney FC.
