Fowler looking to extend Perth Glory stay

Perth Glory star Robbie Fowler has denied he has already agreed a coaching role at MK Dons. The Liverpool legend admitted he has been left intrigued by the offer but is desperate to continue playing for as long as possible.

Fowler's contract with A-League outfit Perth Glory expires early next year and recent reports had suggested he was joining Karl Robinson's coaching staff in February.

The 35 year old said: "I did a little bit of coaching with Karl and basically what he was saying was that I could come back any time.

"There are quotes saying I'm going to go over in February but my contract's not over until March anyway.

"Whatever happens after that doesn't really concern anyone to be honest."

Having spent the past two seasons Down Under, the forward is considering extending his stay for another year.

He said: "I'm here in Perth until the end of my contract. If there's a chance I can continue playing then that's what I'm going to do.

"I'm dreading the day I have to retire. Football's the only thing I've ever done and I want to play as long as I can.

"When the day comes to finally hang up your boots, it's probably one of the saddest days in your life."
