Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler is confident that Brendan Rodgers can help the club lift the Premier League title.

The Reds have won England's top flight since 1990 and if this season is anything to go by, they are still a little off the pace in terms of genuinely contending, following last season's second-place finish.

Rodgers claimed recently that Liverpool will soon lift aloft the Premier League trophy and former Anfield ace Fowler agrees.

"We've been knocking on the door for a few years," he told Sky Sports News HQ.

"We are still in with a slight chance of getting fourth place, I think Brendan is a bright man and I honestly believe he will bring success back to this club."
