Gary Neville is confident his former club Manchester United can produce a top-four finish this season.
The Red Devils fashioned one of their best performances of the season under Louis van Gaal to beat Tottenham 3-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday which saw them further cement themselves in fourth position.
United are now five points clear of fifth-placed Liverpool, who meet Swansea City on Monday night, and just two behind second-placed Manchester City but Neville suggests fourth is the most realistic goal for his old side.
"Consolidating fourth place should be the target," he told Sky Sports after the Spurs triumph.
"Today was a must-win. Lose today and you are looking at the forthcoming fixtures in a daunting way. Looking at the fixtures now, they can be confident when they go to Anfield next week. They've got big games coming up with Chelsea, City and even Everton away.
"They've got the right start. If they'd lost today or dropped points in a poor performance, it would have been difficult.
"I think they can be a lot more optimistic."
