Four Manchester United players have been named in French newspaper L'Equipe's Team of the Year for 2008.

Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra and Cristiano Ronaldo were all named in the XI by L'Equipe's team of journalists.

The XI are:

Iker Casillas (Real Madrid) - Dani Alves (Barcelona), Rio Ferdinand (Manchester United), Nemanja Vidic (Manchester United), Patrick Evra (Manchester United) - Xavi (Barcelona), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United) - Fernando Torres (Liverpool), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Inter Milan)
