Reports suggest that Alessandro Del Piero will sign on for a second season with Sydney FC.
The 38-year old Italian great, who scored four goals in the 7-1 hammering of Wellington Phoenix on the weekend, is expected to honour the second year of the two-year deal he signed in September last year.
The contract includes a clause which allows both Del Piero or Sydney to terminate after the first year but it is believed that the Sky Blues, who currently sit seventh on the A-League table, could announce that they will retain the former Juventus ace by the end of January.
