Four-goal loss just a hiccup - Newcastle's Culina

Newcastle Jets coach Branko Culina has labeled the 4-0 loss to the Perth Glory on Saturday as merely a 'hiccup'.

The Jets were coming off the back of a four-match winning streak but did not fire a shot as the Glory ran riot but Culina was not too deterred after his sides lacklustre performance.

''We've been the form team of this competition for the last two months,'' he said. ''You have a hiccup, today was one of them.

"We just have to go back to the drawing board, recharge our batteries, and come back firing against Melbourne. We've got a good enough team to bounce back.''

The Jets' next match is against the Melbourne Victory on Sunday January 10, a week after the Asian Cup break.
