West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Ben Foster was delighted for manager Roy Hodgson after victory at Liverpool.
It was Hodgson's first time back at Anfield since last season's sacking.
Foster told the WBA website: "The gaffer has no ill feelings towards Liverpool and he's a complete professional but that will be really sweet for the gaffer.
"You could see on his face when he got into the changing room that it meant a lot to him and rightly so. He should be very proud of that victory.
"The boss is really meticulous. He has done a phenomenal job for the club. The points haul he's achieved while he's been here would get us in the top seven or eight for the last year.
"He is probably one of the best coaches I've worked with. He knows the game like the back of his hand. You know that anything he says to you is right.
"Everybody listens to him and is humble because they know he's been there and done it.
"He's seen it all before."
