West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Ben Foster is eager to see Gareth McAuley secured to a new contract.

The defender's current deal is inside the final 18 months.

Foster said: "He's a great story. He's come from nowhere to be a really, really good centre-back in the Premier League.

"He's up there for me among the best centre-backs in the league. He's fantastic.

"He's so calm on the ball and you know he will kick and head and he's amazing to have in front of you."
