Former Manchester United European Cup winner Alex Stepney has urged Ben Foster to be patient about his first team chances.

"For Ben at the moment it is like a racehorse coming round Tottenham Corner in the derby and he's only got the straight ahead," said former England keeper Stepney.

"He may have a couple of horses just ahead of him but he's the one with the pace, stamina and age advantage."
