Ben Foster has discussed his future with boss Sir Alex Ferguson and intends to remain at Manchester United. "The manager called myself and Tomasz in last week and he has reassured me it is in my best interests to stay," he said.
"It was something that needed to be done and it was good to have that opportunity.
"The boss has not got to where he is without being a good man-manager. It is nice to know you can go in, talk to him and listen to what he has to say.
"It was a good meeting and he has made me and Tomasz a bit happier about the whole situation.
"Going on loan was an option at the start of the season but I have forgotten about that now.
"The manager has big plans for the goalkeepers and I am very happy to stay and fight for the jersey."
"I am not disheartened by that," continued Foster.
"You just have to go for it. You only get one chance at being at Manchester United and there have been plenty of players in the past who maybe have jumped ship too early.
"While I am here, I am going to give it all I have got to try and force my way in."
