Foster almost quit Aberdeen

Aberdeen fullback Richard Foster admits he came close to quitting Pittodrie last year after being targeted by fans.

Now the 22 year-old is one manager Jimmy Calderwood's most important players and told Scotland on Sunday: "In that situation, you can slink away and not play because it's getting you down, or be a bigger person and get on with your career. I was determined to be a bigger man and to go out and try my best.

"I have stayed in the manager's plans. Now if anything happens, it's like water off a duck's back because mentally I'm much stronger.

"I think I'm fully accepted by the fans after the run I had last season. They are behind me now and I believe I've proved them wrong."
