Marc-Antoine Fortune feels he can form an exciting strike-partnership with West Brom striker Jay Simpson.

"I enjoyed playing with Jay," he told the WBA website. "He's a nice player and we combined well together.

"We showed good movement and tried to cause Middlesbrough problems. Middlesbrough's centre-halves are strong guys and it was a very physical game.

"I gave my best and we won. I'm very happy for the club and hope this helps towards us staying in the Premier League.

"I was not surprised to be starting because I came here to play and I was ready. I'm fit but I hadn't played in France for a while so I couldn't quite last the 90 minutes."
