Newcastle United goalkeeper Fraser Forster is keen to move to Celtic.
The Daily Express says the Hoops have had a £1.5million offer for the keeper rejected and Parkhead manager Neil Lennon has confirmed he will make another offer.
Newcastle have told Celtic he is not for sale, but Forster is unhappy at the prospect of being the third-choice keeper at St James' Park behind Steve Harper and Tim Krul, after spending last season on loan at Parkhead.
Another loan deal looks unlikely as Pardew criticised the standard of the SPL after watching Forster last season.
Lennon hopes to find out over the next 48 hours if the Magpies will do a deal.
