Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster says he cannot leave the club only to go back to Newcastle United and sit on the bench.
The 22-year old is currently on a season-long loan with the Hoops, joining from Newcastle in the summer to become the number one at Celtic Park.
But after plenty of impressive performances in the green and white, Forster says a shift back to St James' Park would certainly hinder his development.
"Sitting on the bench isn't for me," he said.
"I just want to be out playing first-team football week in, week out.
"I definitely don't want to be going out of things again after I played last season and what I've had this season.
"I'll just have to put in good performances and work hard at training and see where it takes me.
"Celtic's a fantastic club, but we'll just have to wait and see what happens. I'm still Newcastle's player so let's wait until the summer and find what it brings."
And Forster gave special praise to Celtic boss Neil Lennon for giving him the opportunity to be firs team keeper at the famous Glasgow club.
"Neil Lennon's been brilliant for me and I'll always be grateful for that. He's a top manager and I want to do well for him," he added.
