Forster determined to force way into England squad whilst with Celtic

Fraser Forster insists he is not thinking about leaving Celtic despite fears that he may have been looking to return to England.

The 25-year old goalkeeper was involved in England squads late last year and earlier this year but was not called up by Roy Hodgson for recent fixtures against the Republic of Ireland at Wembley and Brazil in Rio.

It has been suggested that the former Newcastle United man would have to leave Celtic in order to force his way into Three Lions calculations ahead of the 2014 World Cup but he says he plans to say put in Glasgow.

"It was a big disappointment for me not to make the England squad," he told SunSport.

"I'd hoped to be a part of things for the friendlies against Ireland and Brazil.

"People doubted a year ago that I could get a call-up being at Celtic. But I proved them wrong and, obviously, the Champions League exposure played a big part in that.

"The World Cup is next summer and every English player wants us to qualify and to be in the squad for the finals. I'm no different.

"I'll be working as hard as I can and playing as well as I can for Celtic to make sure I've got a chance.

"My future's in the hands of the club. I've still got a long time left on my contract and I love playing for Celtic.

"All I'm thinking about right now is staying."
