Colorado Rapids have signed Spanish midfielder Jose Mari from Real Zaragoza.
The 26-year old defensive mid has joined the MLS club after spending the past eight years in his homeland and will be added to the Rapids roster pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate.
Mari has been brought in to replace Honduras international Hendry Thomas, who exited for FC Dallas in the offseason, and will bring with him plenty of experience to Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
The former Murcia and Jaen man admitted that he was excited about joining the Rapids and was looking to achieve plenty of success in Denver.
"It is special for me to be a part of the Colorado Rapids," José Mari said in a statement.
"This is an important club, and I'm happy to be a part of this wonderful group.
"I hope we can accomplish great things, both individually and collectively, and I will be giving everything to help the team be as successful as possible."
Mari appeared in all four of Colorado's fixtures at the recent Desert Diamond Cup in Arizona and impressed enough to win a deal with the Rapids.
