Former Wolves and Blackburn winger Wagstaffe dies

Former Wolves and Blackburn Rovers winger Dave Wagstaffe has died at the age of 70 following a short illness. The Manchester-born player started his career at Maine Road before moving to Molineux in 1964 and spent 12 years with the midlands' club.

Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey told the club's website: "Everyone was desperately saddened to hear of Dave's passing.

"Our sincere condolences go to Dave's partner Val, his children, Gary, Mandy and Scott, and Dave's wider family.

"Everybody at the club and supporters will get the chance to join together to pay tribute to Dave ahead of our game with Gillingham on Saturday."
