Championship Charlton have signed former West Ham midfielder Alou Diarra on a deal until the end of the season. The 33 year old was a free agent, having left the Hammers last summer. "He will add height, experience and, most of all, quality to the midfield," said Charlton head coach Guy Luzon.

"It's a coup for us that we can attract a player with so much international experience and I'm sure he will be fantastic for us."
