Former West Ham boss Alan Curbishley has been out of work since walking away from Upton Park in September. He has been strongly linked with the vacant posts at Championship clubs Nottingham Forest and Derby, with both having recently parted with their managers.

However Curbishley favours a return to top-flight action.

"No disrespect to the clubs out there at the moment, but I've been a Premier League manager for the last 10 years and that's where I want to go back to if I can," he told Sky Sports News.

"We'll have to see what happens.

"Once you've been in the Premier League, if you talk to anyone about it, that's where you want to be and I think I have earned the right to go back in there if there is an opportunity for me."
