Former Villa skipper Petrov can't wait for Celtic return

Stiliyan Petrov is eagerly anticipating his return to Parkhead this weekend.

The former Aston Villa midfielder and Bulgaria international will skipper a Select XI against Celtic legends in a benefit match to help raise funds for leukaemia charities.

Petrov's #19 Legends match will take place at Celtic Park this Sunday and the man himself cannot wait.

"The ticket sales have been incredible. That's the way Celtic have always been as a club though," he told the Daily Record.

"Every single player who has played for this club is still supported, even when they stop playing football and I'm so happy they are still supporting me.

"Sunday will be emotional. I can't imagine what it will be like other than to say it will be great. I left Celtic seven years ago and I have missed the place, especially on the European nights."
