Mexican midfielder Rodolfo Espinoza has revealed he is set for a three-year deal with an unnamed MLS club.
The 29-year old has ended his spell with Peruvian club Universitario and has since been linked with plenty of clubs including Sporting Cristal but he has confirmed he will land in North America's top flight and denied rumours he had left because manager Juan Reynoso had ended his tenure.
"In December there was an opportunity to go to the MLS, but I had given my word to return to the 'U'. In recent days I had been talking about, following and I had talked to the people of the 'U'. The one I will not have to do with John (Reynoso) is gone, I already had decided," he told Aztec Ovation radio.
"Nobody ever came and Crystal went to talk to me. There was talk that Mexico wanted me back, lie. That was three months of my apartment, lie. The truth, the real, I'm going to the United States is almost 99% done, everything else is a lie," he added.
"It's a 3 year contract with MLS team, I plan to stay there all that time and then look for the best, returning to Mexico, I do not know. You can never rule anything out, return to Peru. Six months ago and said no I came back. If I return, it would be to 'U' or with John," he concluded.
