Former Tottenham Hotspur winger Rohan Ricketts has had his spell at Toronto FC prematurely ended on Wednesday. The 26-year old had his contract terminated by the club after reaching a release agreement.

After spending all of his career in England, Ricketts landed in Toronto in April 2008 and initially impressed at Major League Soccer level but soon fell out of favour and was pushed down the pecking order.

This caused Ricketts to feel frustrated as he shared on his Twitter page, "sitting around earning money and not playing games."
