DC United have taken young defender William Ekong on trial with the view to adding him to their roster this summer.
The Dutch U19 international, who came through the Tottenham youth academy, was recently released by Fulham and is available as a free agent.
DC head coach Ben Olsen admits it is a difficult time to closely monitor Ekong as the club has a couple of away matches but feels he could be good enough to contribute at MLS level.
"Physically he looks like he is equipped for the league," Olsen said.
"It's a tough week to evaluate players. We'll probably have him here for a week or two."
