Emmanuel Adebayor says he holds no grudge against Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino ahead of his return to White Hart Lane with Crystal Palace on Sunday, reports the London Evening Standard.
Adebayor was frozen out by Pochettino before his Spurs contract was cancelled by mutual agreement last September.
However, the 31-year-old admits he had a strained relationship with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy. Adebayor was adamant he would only leave Spurs on his terms and Levy eventually negotiated his exit after a long stand-off.
Adebayor was more diplomatic about Pochettino: "We have a very good relationship," he said.
"We had man-to-man conversations. He told me, 'Emmanuel, I do not count on you any more'. Which I understand. I realised my time at Tottenham was over and I had to move on.
"I did not have a good relationship with Daniel Levy because he made everything complicated. But when you want something, you have to stand strong for it. Obviously people will judge you, but I know what I have been through in my life. And I know what I have to stand for. Tottenham are happy, they are playing quite well, and I am happy playing for Crystal Palace. We have both moved on."
